I need to be packing and cleaning so here is my (somewhat) short but sweet update:
1) LOST is my current biggest addiction. Season Finale = A+. Damn't, what am I going to do until January?
2) SHORTBUS was so good. I love John Cameron Mitchell. Opening scene was something else...
The boyfriend and I may take a trip to my favorite city in July (aka NYC) and I think it would be great to see Jay Brannan play live (character from movie who is also a quite talented musician).
3) Boulder Chamber Orchestra (my recent new job) had their final concert of the season last week. I am contemplating and daydreaming daily about playing the violin or cello... I feel very connected to these string instruments whenever I'm in close contact with them, but I wonder how quickly I could learn. I'm learning a lot about reading string scores for my job, which is nice. It feels good to be furthering myself in a work environment and feel like I am learning something and gaining something from it. I am one of the only people I know who has had a really hard time not having classes to go to.
** Speaking of classes... Mixed Taste is starting up again at Belmar! I always enjoy... Patrick, my manager at Twist will be one of the lectures in an upcoming "Kurt Cobain and Solar Eclipses" session**
4) Downsizing to a studio apartment and a more simple life. Everything I need in one perfect sized room, kitchen, and bathroom. Cat (all of the time), Tyler (much of the time), keyboard, cds, dvds, books... a place to sleep... a cool breeze that travels through the window on the the third floor of my 1920's building... my own personal space.
Ok, back to work- need to get 1/2 an hour in of packing/cleaning in order to feel okay about watching 2-3 hours of LOST tonight...

I know I haven't posted in this journal (which I've had for over 6 years now... frightening) in a long time, but this has to be said. Sorry if it makes no sense to anyone, but I am absolutely livid and infuriated right now.
SERIOUSLY. The world would be a more peaceful and liveable environment if adults would learn to not always look at what they're NOT getting, and focus on what's truly important.
1) Don't fight fire with fire. If somebody has something that they are unhappy with another about, don't try to play a petty game and manipulate the other person so that you feel better about the situation. What good does that do anyone? It innevitably ends up becoming even more misconstrued than it already is. Manipulation, in my opinion, is the most terrible, cruel, and disrespectful way to treat somebody who you might consider your friend.
2) Be Selfless. Maybe this person that you are attempting to "get a message" across to has been trying in more ways than you can imagine to be selfless and better the situation for both parties in the best way they know possible without perpetuating the problem further. Don't throw it back in their face because you are ignorant and so self-focused.
3) Consciousness. Be aware that other people are not all idiots, think about how much effort you are taking to make somebody else uncomfortable, realize what else you might also be doing that could effect others outside of yourself and that maybe they are willing to accept that they can't change you and they will either just have to live with it or not.
Even small conflicts that are not confronted with honesty and genuine compassion can explode.
I admit, I didn't want to "give-in" either, but I already did once. I would like to again because I can't help but feel bad, but how can I justify perpetuating a problem that on the surface you will be able to be happy about and ignore but underneath my skin, my blood will be boiling.
I apologize if none or only some of this makes sense.

I think I am finally okay with being alone. This is a pivotal turning point in my life, and I feel so different.
Who would have thought that somebody could inspire me like this, and even though everything is so bittersweet and what I want is unattainable- I'm okay with it, I'm actually more happy about it than I know how to express. I'm melancholy, but who wouldn't be? I've been given the opportunity to experience beauty in it's truest, most sincere and honest form- and I will hold onto it forever.
In a similar light... I have incredible friends- I finally am willing to admit that I have more "friends" than I've allowed myself to realize, but I've only been able to become truly close to a few people- these are people I will keep safe and close to me until I'm old and grey and dying. And to have them as my friends, I am forever grateful. I would do anything for them, I love them so much.
Bittersweet tears are worth every drop.
